A pouch lasts 30 to 90 days, and where you put it decides which end of that range you get. Still, enclosed air under a sink, a closed cabinet, a sealed bin, a parked vehicle buys you the full 90. Warm, dusty or drafty spaces like garages, attics, barns and engine bays run closer to 30 or 45.
Airflow and heat pull the oils out. That is physics, not a defect, and any brand quoting one number for every environment hasn't thought about it.
To check, get close and smell it. Faded to almost nothing means spent. Look every 30 days and you will never run a dead barrier without knowing.
