But the deeper problem isn't the poison. It's what the poison is for.

 

Mice don't find your house by luck. They navigate by smell. As they travel they leave scent behind — along baseboards, under cabinets, through gaps you'll never spot. Those become established runways. It's why an inspector looks for grease smears on a wall. He's reading their map.
