Moles do not choose your yard because of what's on the surface.

They don't find it because of how your grass looks, how you water it, or even primarily because of grubs.

Moles choose where to live based almost entirely on what the ground feels like.

Their eyes are essentially nonfunctional. They have no external ears.

Their entire nervous system is built around one sense: vibration.

They feel the earth. They read it like a map. They know where food is, where danger is, and where it's safe to stay all through ground vibration.

Here's the part that reframes everything:

A yard with no underground vibration is, to a mole, the safest place on earth.

No movement means no predators. No threat signal means stay forever.

Think about what that means for every solution you've tried.

When you poisoned a mole  you removed one animal. The ground stayed silent. New moles found the existing tunnels within weeks. Because the yard still felt safe.

When you trapped a mole same result. One animal gone. Silent yard. Replacement arrived.

When you spread castor oil surface deterrent only. Moles burrowed slightly deeper. Waited it out. Came back when the smell faded.

None of these solutions ever addressed the actual reason moles chose your yard.

They targeted the animal. Not the environment.

The environment that underground silence was never touched.
