What started as “a few bites” turned into a full-blown invasion.
I was mortified. I cancelled plans. I wore long sleeves in summer just to hide my arms.
At night, I couldn’t sleep. I’d toss, scratch, flip the sheets, inspect every seam, every pillow.
Every time I closed my eyes, I imagined them crawling on me.
I tried everything:
- Chemical sprays
- Laundry marathons on “hot”
- DIY powders and essential oils
- Foggers and “bombs”
Nothing worked. The bites kept showing up.
And with kids in the house, I hated filling our home with harsh chemicals.
Finally, I gave in and called a professional.
“You’re looking at $1,800… and that’s just for one room,” he said.
I could barely afford groceries. There was no way I was paying that.
For a moment, I honestly thought about selling the house.
But this was the home where I’d raised my kids. I wasn’t going to let a bunch of bugs drive us out.
